Sig P365 AXG Legion: Two Versions, Same UPC – What You Need to Know

Red Hill Tactical recently uncovered a surprising discovery: two distinct versions of the Sig P365 AXG Legion, both bearing the same UPC and SKU. This revelation came after a sponsored shooter inquired about holster compatibility, leading to the realization that Sig’s initial claim of uniformity was incorrect.

Key Differences Between the “Old” and “New” Models:

  • Rail Height: The older model features a rail height of 1.5365 inches, while the newer version measures 1.4765 inches – a 0.06-inch difference [01:38].
  • Pin Hole Location: The pinhole’s position also varies. In the older model, it sits under the back edge of the rail slot, whereas in the newer model, it’s located outside the back edge [03:21].
  • Trigger Guard: The flat part of the trigger guard is positioned above the rails in the older model but below the rail in the newer one [03:42].
  • Part Numbers: A simple way to differentiate the models is by their part numbers. The new gun’s part number ends in “08,” while the old gun’s part number ends in “05” [04:12].

Holster Fitment Issues:

The dimensional discrepancies between the two models have implications for holster compatibility. Sig Macro holsters may “sort of work” for inside-the-waistband carry with the new model. However, they are not suitable for double-layer or competition holsters [04:52].

Red Hill Tactical’s Response:

To address this issue, Red Hill Tactical is taking proactive steps. They are manufacturing new holsters directly from the new guns until molds are available [02:49]. To help consumers distinguish between the models, they will label their holsters as “pre-2025” and “post-2025” on their website [03:01]. Additionally, they are stocking up on ready-to-ship options for the new gun model on their .net site [05:49].
